The Band Profile

Formed Feburary 2001. We play Latin, Ska and Funk music with Trumpet, Keyboard, Turntable, Guitar, Bass guitar, Drums, Percussion. Three of the members are from Burnside High School and two are from Christchurch Boys High School.

Member profile

Michael Bell [Vocals, Bass guitar, Trumpet, Percussion]
Age 14
He plays Bass, Trumpet, Percussion, drums and Piano in all styles. Also he writes songs for the band. He goes to Burnside High school.

　

Takumi Motokawa (Tak) [Lead & Rythm Guitar, Piano, Keybord, Vocal, DJ]
Age 17
He started playing Piano 8 years ago. Also plays Guitar,Bass guitar, Percussion and Drums. He went to compete in rockquest last year as well. Last year he was playing percussion for the show called "Westend to Broadway2" in a Musical theatre company in Invercargill. He is in lots of different bands and groups now. He is in school Jazz band (Big band), school Jazz ensemble, and school orchestra, percussion group (for chamber music contest). He goes to Burnside High school.

　

Matt Stuart [Trumpet, Vocal, Percussion]
Age 16
He started playing trumpet 3 years ago. He plays principal trumpet in the Burnside High School orchestra, Jazz band and Jazz ensemble. He has been playing cornet for 8 years, and flugel horn for 3 years. He played flugel horn for the national youth brass band in 2000.

　

Mitchell Head [Drums]
Age 17
He started playing drums and percussion at five years of age. He also plays the keyboard. He plays in the Christchurch Boys High School concert band, jazz band, percussion ensemble, orchestra and the Christchurch School of Music stage band. He is Mason's older brother.

　

Mason Head [Percussion]
Age 13
He started playing drums and percussion 5 years ago, he plays in the Christchurch Boys High School Orchestra and concert band and has also played in another rock band with Michael. He did percussion also with Michael in the Christchurch Primary Schools' Music Festival.
